History of jeans
The name jeans (blue jeans in English) comes from the French term for the dye that was used to color denim: bleu de Gênes, "Genoa blue." The Czech name "rifle" comes from the name of an Italian clothing company that manufactured jeans in the second half of the 20th century. The now rarely used term "texasky" (Texans) is derived from Texas cowboys, who took a liking to these trousers around the time of the First World War. The term "dzeginy" for the newer product (after 2010) was formed by combining the words jeans and leggings.
How to choose the right jeans
By cut
- Skinny: Tight-fitting, ideal for slim figures
- Straight: Straight legs, universal for every figure
- Mom jeans: Loose in the waist, narrower at the ankles
- Flare: Flared from the knees, visually lengthen legs
- Boyfriend: Loose, casual, great for taller figures
